Elaine Griffin
Biographical Info A passionate problem-solver, Elaine Griffin believes in second chances. She especially loves tapping into the compassionate side of lawyering and coming alongside those amid struggle. Throughout law school, Elaine worked at the Center for Victim and Human Rights. Aiding victims of domestic violence and those struggling with immigration issues piqued her interest in divorce and immigration law early on. “There is a huge opportunity to step into the hardest and most confusing point in someone’s life and be there for them,” she says. As such, Elaine finds it rewarding to untangle messy situations and use the law to bring relief, such as working on orders for protection for domestic violence or securing special visas for those who desperately need them. While at law school, Elaine was an associate editor of the International and Comparative Law Review, where she published writing on gender-based violence in post-earthquake Haiti. Elaine cares deeply about the people of Haiti, serving on the board of directors of Nou Hope, a Haitian support organization. Elaine was born and raised right here in Lafayette. After graduating cum laude from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Elaine was thrilled to return to Lafayette to be close to family. “All the important things in life are here,” she declares. Elaine is excited to serve her hometown in family law, immigration, estate planning, real estate, and more. Beyond the office, you can find her outside in the community. Elaine especially enjoys spending time at Prophetstown State Park, the Celery Bog Nature Area, the Clegg Botanical Gardens, and exploring Wildcat Creek.
